Rebekah Fergusson is a documentary filmmaker based in Berkeley, CA. Most recently, she collaborated with Academy Award-winning directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman to produce The Hell-Raiser, a short documentary for Amazon's 2016 The New Yorker Presents series. She was the post production supervisor on Killing the Colorado, a 2017 feature length documentary executive produced by Epstein and Friedman for The Discovery Channel. She co-produced and was behind the camera on the feature length documentary The Case Against 8 about the Supreme Court case that reversed California’s ban on gay marriage. The Case Against 8 premiered at Sundance in 2014 and was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Documentary. She directed the feature length documentary Pelada which premiered at South by Southwest in 2010 and was called “close to pitch-perfect..." by The New York Times. Rebekah also co-founded Backyard Films, an eclectic Bay Area short film series, and she is passionate about teaching documentary film.
