Pelada is a feature length documentary following two American soccer players as they travel around the globe chasing the other side of soccer. In Brazil, “pelada,” which literally means "naked," is the slang word for a "pick-up game," the game stripped down to its core. It’s the version of the game played by anyone, anywhere—and it’s a window into lives all around the world. Pelada premiered at South by Southwest in 2010 and was an Official Selection at IFF Boston, Full Frame, Sidewalk Moving Pictures, Heartland, Denver Starz, Newport Beach, and Docaviv. Pelada won an Outstanding Achievement in Documentary Filmmaking Award from Newport Beach Film Festival and garnered great reviews from The New York Times, Variety, and Sports Illustrated. It is currently available on iTunes, Amazon, and Netflix.
